The History of Harmony Baptist Church

Harmony Baptist Church 1916

Harmony Baptist Church was founded in 1916 when a group of twenty-five met in the Bowdon Junction Methodist Church and constituted a Missionary Baptist Church. They chose the name formerly used by the community "Harmony" with the hopes of continued Harmony in thier group.

Harmony Baptist Church 1953

A brick church was erected in 1953 on the same property. The first service held in this church was a Wednesday night service on October 21, 1953. The building was completed and ready for full occupancy on November 1, 1953.

Harmony Baptist Church 2004

Ground was broken in the fall of 2003 for our new building. We held our first service on Sunday morning June 13, 2004. Dedication Service was held that afternoon. God has truly blessed us with our wonderful new facilities. We pray for his continued blessing as we strive to do His will.

Harmony Baptist Church 2007

As the years progress, so does Harmony Baptist Church. We have with the Lord's guidance grown more and more each year. The Church has taken on not only new members and ministries, but has also changed in appearence. We have added to the van ministry and updated our playground for the children.

Yes the Lord has truly blessed our Church and as long as we keep doing his will and not our own he will continue to do so.
